1. How long after I refer a patient do they have to wait for an appointment?
We will usually schedule a patient within 48 hours of calling for an appointment. If there is a patient in extreme pain, we can usually accommodate within 24 hours. You can fill out the appointment request form for these special situations.
2. How do I refer a patient to physical therapy?
You can call our office, fill out the referral form online, fax a prescription or send a prescription to our address.
3. What other information would be helpful to the physical therapist on the prescription?
Weight-bearing status, ROM restrictions post-operatively, degrees of resistance for post-surgical patients, (active, passive or active assisted), fracture status and location if appropriate, requests for splints or braces and type of surgical procedure/internal fixation used.
4. Do you need operative, MRI or x-ray reports?
Not necessary but we appreciate these reports if you have them since we always are performing manual treatments on our patients. These reports can be emailed or faxed to our office. (Fax 732-297-0558)
5. How will I know my patient is progressing?
We will fax over our initial examination followed by progress reports prior the patient returning to your office. Feel free to call our office to request a progress evaluation at any time.
6. Will my patient be given a home exercise program?
Yes, all of our patients receive a home exercise program. Our new website will enable the patient to directly login to our website from anywhere to review their prescribed home exercises.
