Alexi Wiemer considers himself lucky. In the winter of 2015, Alexi had a severe fall onto his back from 30 feet while rock climbing. He was rushed to the ER where he was diagnosed with a burst compression at L1-L3 that resulted in spinal fusion surgery from T11-L3. The doctors were not sure he was going to walk again as he had some spinal cord symptoms. But, after doing inpatient rehab at the local hospital for 3 weeks, outpatient physical therapy at Jersey Physical Therapy for 6 weeks and more rehab in Atlanta, GA, Alexi is back running again.
I’ve Made Amazing Progress!
Alexi stopped in to Jersey PT the other day to report his amazing progress. “The staff at Jersey PT went above and beyond for me. Marc recently invited Alexi to run in Eric LeGrand’s 5K next year. Both are looking forward to this great event to promote awareness of spinal cord injuries.
